G.J.S. | HW Yachtcharter was led by Doede, Douwina & Hans Willem Rienks. After owning their own bakery for 15 years, they started the water sports business Grou Jacht Service de Jister B.V. in 1992. With 1 rental boat and a marina offering yacht brokerage and maintenance, they turned their hobby, water sports, into their profession. Over the years, the rental fleet grew, and they discontinued yacht brokerage and maintenance.
Over 17 years ago, the first HW yachts were introduced. Throughout the years, ships were bought, sold, new ones were built, and older ones were renovated and modified. All ship names begin with the familiar letters HW, derived from the family names Hans and Willem.
2008
In 2008, son Hans Willem Rienks joined the team. After studying at the Higher Nautical School for 4 years and sailing as a mate for 3 years, he chose to strengthen the G.J.S. team.
2012
As the company became known among guests under the important family letters HW (Hans Willem), they decided to change the name G.J.S. to HW, and from 2012, the company became H.W. Jachtcharter B.V., a name it still holds today.
2017
In 2017, it was time for Hans Willem to take over from his parents. A new era began, and HW Yachtcharter has since built a large base of guests who return annually to enjoy the luxury yachts for rent.
Today, HW Yachtcharter is an integral part of the Frisian waters. A rental fleet that has grown to 17 luxury motor yachts has made HW a household name in the Yachtcharter industry.
