Bolsward has had city rights for more than 550 years and it is a city well worth visiting. In Bolsward you can almost reach the city centre by boat. Mooring at ‘Kruiswater’ or on one of the canals is perfectly possible. During the summer months the atmosphere around the quays is very lively!
The Centre of Bolsward The heart of the city is the church called the Martinikerk. Bolsward has quite a large number of shopkeepers, partly because it has a regional position in South-West Friesland. You’ll find the usual shops such as clothing shops, little department stores but also very small, quaint shops. |
