The city of Hindeloopen has a special atmosphere because of the wooden bridges over the narrow canals. Unfortunately you can’t reach Hindeloopen by waterway. For experienced skippers it’s possible to reach Hindeloopen through the IJsselmeer. (nb for the IJsselmeer, you must have written permission.)Along the seawall there are beaches where you can enjoy a quiet summer’s sunbathing, swimming or fishing. There is also a beautiful view over the lake from the beach.

The Center of Hindeloopen

When you walk through the center you find yourself in another world. This is a unique world of narrow streets, beautiful vistas, typical characteristic gables and wooden bridges. Around the old port, you will find cosy cafes and restaurants offering an endless view over the lake, and where you can enjoy the sunset.
